I think the email said upgrades start at $US49.99 - that would be to the Essentials edition. Pentaxians of all people should be resilient against FUD!Īn upgrade from DxO OpticsPro or PhotoLab 1 Elite to PhotoLab 2 Elite is $US69.99. Personally I'm not worried about their future viability, now that they have emerged from administration, and are back on track with software development. I'm hoping that they will integrate the Nik Collection eventually.
The U-point tech introduced with PhotoLab 1 has been a great addition. There are also instances where the software recognizes an unsupported lens because it has the same optics as a supported one: for example, it treated my (unsupported) FA 50mm f2.8 macro as if it were the (optically identical) DFA 50 f2.8 macro. PhotoLab is worth its weight in lenses and can significantly rework a RAW file fairly easily with supported models of camera/lens combos.Nicely put.
